Choose Your Plan
Step 5. Find out if you will be able to choose to get your prescriptions filled at a local pharmacy or if you will have to use a mail order service.
Some plans require you to receive some or all of your prescriptions through a mail order service instead of getting them from your local community pharmacy. Others simply have a mail order option and let you choose whether or not to use it. Be sure to think about what your preferences are for receiving pharmacy services. Is it important to you to be able to talk to the pharmacist directly about questions or concerns you may have? Are there different copay amounts if you get your medicines through the mail order service than if you fill the prescription at your local community pharmacy? Are all of your medications available through the mail order service or only certain ones?
